Becci Jewell is a writer with a PhD in marine biology. She’s working on her first book, The Gray Whale Cycle, about her attempt to cycle alongside the gray whales’ migration from Alaska to Mexico in 2019. You can read more about that journey at thegraywhalecycle.com.

Becci works at sea as a naturalist on cruise ships and as an environmental observer during scientific and industry projects. When she’s not working, she’ll still be found at sea, perhaps volunteering for the RNLI or snorkelling in the shallows close to her home in Fife, Scotland.
